Part of a 60-hectare
land, PERDANA BOTANICAL GARDEN (established in
1888 and formerly known as LAKE GARDEN), which includes An Artificial Lake, The National Monument, The Deer Park,
Orchid And Hibiscus Garden, Former Malaysia Parliament House, The KL Butterfly
Park and The KL Bird Park, which is
on a 20.9-acre (8.5 ha) land. Reputed to be the World Largest Covered Bird Park and World Largest Free Flight Walk-In
Aviary.
The KL Bird Park is home
to 3,000 birds, representing over 200 species all under one enclosed area. 90%
of the birds here are local while 10% are imported from overseas. It earns its
name as the World Largest Free Flight
Walk-in Aviary not because it is enclosed by nettings, but also because the
birds are let free to roam in the area. For those who are into bird-watching or
those who wish to study on birds in their natural surrounding or habitats, can
do so here in the park itself.

Zone 1,2 and 3 – the
birds are let free in the aviary which resembles their own natural habitat.
Thus enabling them to breed naturally in an environment closely similar to a
tropical rainforest. With the success of the breeding, enhanced it has ensured
the birds survival and the continuity of the species.

there is the whole day activity or the scheduled ones. If for unforeseen

what about having a restaurant and cafe that could cater to the visitors of The
KL Bird Park and public as well?
A rustic malay kampung
style look architecture building within the Hornbill Park in The KL Bird
Park, you will find Hornbill Restaurant And Cafe (write up article on restauant click here for more) You can enter the restaurant either from the Hornbill
Park or from the front entrance before entering The KL Bird Park. A three tiered restaurant, ideal for any type of
functions, with the capacity of

Dining
in at the Hornbill Restaurant and Cafe
can be quite an experience as not just serving of local and western fusion menu
but in quite a reasonable portion at reasonably fair price (seriously not
expensive quite affordable). And on occasionally get a visitor or two from the
permanent residence of the park itself. Rhinoceros
Hornbill or a couple of the park feathered friends joining in to have a
peak at what you are having.
Please
do not feed the birds as they have their very own food intake and diet
prescribed especially for them by the parks veterinarian and care takers.

If you have the apps
then you can just grab/uber down to The KL Bird Park
Taxis
You can also opt for the
public taxis around
Its Malaysia first double
decker tour bus which you can disembark right infront of The KL Bird Park and
just walk down to the entrance.
KTMB
Commuter
Drop off at the KL Station,
and walk towards the National Mosque which is about 5minutes opposite of the
KTMB Station. If you are the adventurous type then walking up all the way to
The KL Bird Park which will take about 15 minutes walk (1 kilometer).
Lake
Gardens Tram
Another way is to take the
Lake Garden tram from Dataran Merdeka with a minimal fees and drop in front of
The KL Bird Park
LRT /
GoKL
If you are opting for
the LRT / MRT, stop at Pasar Seni Station and take the FREE GoKL bus and stop
in front of the National Mosque and walk up to The KL Bird Park. You can opt
for the Lake Gardens Tram but it will be some time. Next best will be a Taxi /
Grab / Uber.
